General Information
Welcome to the Assessing and Training Centre. Although A.T.C. is located in Darwin, we offer cost effective, industry appropriate training programs throughout the Northern Territory, in both nationally accredited and locally certified formats.
Our Mission
To provide an educational training and assessment service for clients requiring such service to national competency standards across a broad range of skills, including but not limited to Civil Construction, Security Training, First Aid, Transport & Distribution (including Truck Licencing & Forklift), Driver Education, Drink Driver Education and Driver Training & Licencing.
Business Concept
As leaders in innovative quality training, A.T.C. were the first RTO in Australia to fit a dual control system to a Landcruiser 4x4 specifically to meet driver education client needs in remote areas. This leadership has resulted in other RTOs now being funded to utilise a more client related vehicle in remote delivery areas. A.T.C. also targeted trainers of Aboriginal origin to deliver national quality training of other Aboriginal people. This has resulted in 50% of our personnel being of Aboriginal origin. A.T.C. have a well equipped main training centre based at Berrimah in Darwin. When needed, clients are transported to Darwin to utilise these facilities. Combined, these strategies allow A.T.C. to meet real client needs.
Resource Requirements
The provision of training courses by A.T.C. will fall into two catagories, accredited national training programs and non accredited training courses. All our personnel are required to have qualifications and practical experience relevant to the specific training courses they deliver. Resource requirements are all in accordance with national training programs and include, but are not limited to, those located at A.T.C.’s Berrimah training centre. As well, all registered RTO’s have access to government funded facilities. Whenever possible, client specific products or technology are utilised at the client site to best match client needs to national training requirements
Competitive Advantage
Competition is open and clearly defined as all nationally registered training organisations have access to the same funding sources. A.T.C. win clients with our ability to definitively meet our clients stated objectives. A.T.C. was selected as innovative quality trainers in 1998. Whilst our training methods have been copied, the outcomes have not been as positive. Our client base are aware of these differences and seek A.T.C. to deliver training in their communities to meet their needs.
